It was a RE-BOOT!
Happy Monday! Following up on last week’s post about unplugging, and I am happy to report that not only did I survive my 3-hour ‘reboot’, but I was also elated with how it went! Not only were those 3 technology-free hours great, but the entire day was! I planned my power down from 12:30 – 3:30 on Sunday. Knowing that this time was designated made me more productive in the morning with things that needed to be done on the computer like paying bills, placing an online order, and even some work. That was my surprise! I expected to get a lot done while unplugged, but I didn’t expect that the hours beforehand would be equally as productive.
During my 3 hours ‘cleanse’, I read, took a walk, and reorganized my pantry (something I had been wanting to do for weeks). Because I decided an entire day would be too difficult, my compromise with myself was that I would be completely technology-free. No TV. No music. Just me and my thoughts. I had considered that if I was just bored, I would take a nap, but in fact, the opposite happened. I was full of energy. Not only did I walk during my cleanse, but I took an additional walk. I more than doubled my steps for the day!
Most of all though, I just felt better. More focused. Less stressed. My evening was so relaxed as a result of a productive morning and my unplugged afternoon. I am definitely doing it again next weekend.
Did anyone else give it a try? Or does anyone else already incorporate this into their routine?
